I'm no fan of the movie
I find it far too long and silly (even for a kids film). However the special effects are incredible even by today's standards. This movie showed how they flawlessly combined live action and animation. Today they would use CGI to do it but back then it took time (and talent) to get it to work. Also it has rare footage of a 1925 silent Disney cartoon, outtakes of Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews lip syncing one of the songs and extremely rare never before seen footage of the chimney sweeps rehearsing their very acrobatic song and dance. Those guys must have been dying--they did it outside in the heat of the summer. Most of the guys are just down to wearing their shorts. Also we see Andrews attending the premiere of the movie and accepting the Academy Award for it. So, I'm not a fan, but this short doc was fun!
