Kincardine Lift-out Scheduled for October 5

Lift-out is scheduled for October 5 starting at 7:00 for volunteers and 8:00 to begin lifting boats. This year there will be only one crane and we will attempt to lift all the boats into the parking lot. The hydraulic trailer will be used extensively.

Cradle moving will take place the Saturday before lift-out (September 28).

Please check this site for updates. Boats requesting lift and volunteer assignments are shown below. As more information becomes available, it will be posted here.

For those having their boat lifted out, please watch the lift order and be ready to be lifted. The lift order will be posted when it becomes available. We are still waiting for a few people to say if they want to be lifted.

Many boat owners are considering having their boat lifted with the mast up. If that is your plan, the backstay and boom topping lift must be removed  to make room for the sling spreader bars. Club rules allow only boats with keel stepped masts to be lifted with masts up. For boat owners who want to leave their mast on deck, the mast must not extend more than 3 feet beyond the ends of the boat. Exceptions may be possible for boats lifting onto their own trailers.

If your boat is not on the list and you want to be lifted or to confirm you don't want to be lifted, please send an email to lifts@kyc.ca. If we don't hear from you by September 20, you will not be on the list and you will be on your own to get your boat lifted out.

Members who wish to volunteer to help, please send an email to lifts@kyc.ca.  We will not look for posts or comments on Facebook.

Kincardine Marina

The Kincardine Marina is halfway between Sarnia and the North Channel. The harbour is open 24 hours a day, and has over the years, been a haven of refuge for weary boaters. No boat has ever been turned away from Kincardine, even 70 footers have been known to shelter at the harbor when Lake Huron’s waves become too wild. The marina can accommodate over 150 boats with 14 slips reserved for transient boaters.

While at the harbor, visit the Lighthouse Marine Museum, take a romantic walk on the boardwalk, watch a magnificent sunset and listen to the Phantom Piper Pipe down the sun from atop the lighthouse. With it’s close proximity to Kincardine’s downtown, boaters can walk to restaurants, the laundromat and shop in the downtown core.
