Description
Français : Ménagère et enfant mulâtre (titre originel), Congo belge. Les mêmes modèles (une mère et son enfant métis) sont représentés dans la photographie File:Femme indigène et enfant mulâtre.jpg. La légende est factuelle et se veut "scientifique". Cependant, elle est très révélatrice du cadre de pensée de l'époque: l’identité des modèles n'est pas mentionnée, la jeune femme est désignée par son statut, le bébé par sa catégorie raciale.
