Čeština: Povstání v Miláně
English: The followers of Henry VII defeat the revolt of Guido della Torre in Milan (12 February 1311), miniature in Codex Balduini Trevirensis (ca. 1340): Bellum ibi Gwido de Turri evasit.
At the center is "a German knight" identified by or, two eagles sable fighting a Guelph leader, with gules, two lily scepters argent per saltire [the della Torre emblem]. The "German knight" has been identified with Werner von Homberg (Irmer, p. 45), who is given the same coat of arms in the Codex Manesse. Behind Werner is Duke Leopold I, with the Austrian Bindenschild. On the right, Konrad von Gundelfingen the later Deutschmeister of the Teutonic Order, is shown with argent, a cross sable of the Teutonic knights, fighting an Italian knight who has azure, semy of stars argent, apparently after just having beheaded another enemy. Four further German knights are identified by their coats of arms, Friedrich von Burtscheid with argent, three hearts (or vine leaves) gules; Walram of Luxembourg, with the Luxembourg lion, shown as thrusting a dagger into the neck of an enemy knight; Amadeus V, Count of Savoy with gules a cross argent for Savoy, Gottfried von dem Bongart with gules, a chevron argent for Limburg. Georg Irmer, Die Romfahrt Kaiser Heinrich's VII im Bildercyclus des Codex Balduini Trevirensis (1881). |
