Translation from Russian to English:
The people lived only by hopes, it kept and raised its culture, and its treasures collected under the ashes of fires, epic poems were passed on from mouth to mouth, a mighty and tragic lyric poetry developed, architecture - severe and great - kept its style, unique in the world.
- The Armenian people was bitterly disappointed when the hope for liberation that had flared up after the February Revolution was destroyed by miserable betrayal by the Dashnaks and Mensheviks.
- And finally the five-pointed star of liberty has raised over Armenia!
- The people has taken the power in its own hands.
Soviet Armenia. From an album with illustrations published due the 20th anniversary of the Great Socialist October Revolution, 1937
