In 2019 a new class of ferries known as the [[River-class ferry|River-class]] were announced. The [[River-class ferry|River-class ferries]] were set to replace the SuperCats and HarbourCats. In December 2021 SuperCat "[[Mary Mackillop|Saint Mary Mackillop]]" was retired from passenger service after a few of the new [[River-class ferry|River-class ferries]] entered service. Today [[Susie O'Neill]], [[Louise Sauvage]] and Supercat 4 all remain in active service.
