English: Ryoanji, temple bell (Bonshō), rung by striking from outside as bell has no internal clapper. Ukyo W, Kyoto City, Japan. This bell was created in 1950, and we have been unable to ascertain any claims to copyright by an individual bellmaker (or company, but corporate copyright is assumed to have existed). Under Japanese law, this makes the underlying work free.
