Throughout the afternoon hours of May 21, 2024, a large and destructive tornado struck the cities and communities of [[Villisca, Iowa|Villisca]], [[Nodaway, Iowa|Nodaway]], [[Brooks, Iowa|Brooks]], [[Corning, Iowa|Corning]], and [[Greenfield, Iowa|Greenfield]] in southwestern [[Iowa]], killing 5 people and injuring 35 others.
