Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but many editors recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (70.248.182.33) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! benzband (talk) 18:07, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You warned yourself?

Did you perhaps mean to place that warning on User talk:63.144.16.190? I copied it there for you--up to you to delete it from here! Gtwfan52 (talk) 17:42, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that was an accident. I occasionally have such accidents. Thanks for informing me. 70.248.182.33 (talk) 17:43, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
LOL...Me too. More every day as I get older sorry to say! Gtwfan52 (talk) 17:45, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting assistance

Hello. I've waited quite a while, and I have two unfulfilled edit requests (and one recent request) for templates, which I feel are legitimate edit requests.

1. Edit request near bottom, sandbox page deleted
2. Most recent input not reviewed, but my last request made there should be uncontroversial enough to implement, and reverted if necessary
3. Copy and paste from this sandbox to generate the diff.

Also, I am requesting that these sandboxes all be moved from the Template talk: to the Template: namespace. I was unable to do so due to technical restrictions for IP editors. These requests seemed to have been overlooked.

Thanks in advance. 70.248.182.33 (talk) 17:26, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1. → Was answered as  Not done: because the page was no longer protected (thus you could be bold and make the edit yourself);
2. → Consensus was for the word "content" (which counts references as well), and so {{Uw-delete2}} stayed that way;
3. → {{Template_talk:Uw-bite/sandbox}} and {{Uw-bite}} are currently identical.
Cheers, benzband (talk) 09:31, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to refute those statements.
1. The template is protected, it's simply semi-protected. They were logged in and did not realize it. I'm not logged in and therefore I cannot edit the template.
2. If consensus was for the word "content", then that's the only word you need, as if there are any redundant references to content, such as templates, it would be like saying content twice.
3. They are not identical. Please observe more carefully. See this comparison.
Thanks in advance. 70.248.182.33 (talk) 17:28, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
1. → I can't see any evidence of protection on Template:Uw-vaublock/sandbox or on it's talk page. However unregistered users cannot create pages, this may explain your problems.
2. → Content is anything "contained within the main namespace". Templates, however, are transcluded from the template namespace (so strictly speaking they are not article content).
3. → Indeed they are not identical. I have changed the links from shortcuts directly to their targets. However your rephrasing of "what they did wrong" (in my view at least) doesn't improve it so i left it as is.
Regards, benzband (talk) 18:13, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
1. Could an administrator undelete and review my changes for #1? I couldn't possibly make them, and by the way, I would like for those pages to be moved from the template talk into the main template namespace. This request was repeatedly ignored, but can be easily done by an established editor.
2. Understood. Perhaps we could link to both content and templates to make it newbie-friendlier
3. With my knowledge in language, I felt that the changed wording was more professional, therefore, can I kindly request additional input? I'm tired of making requests at UTM which are ignored.
Thanks for your assistance. 70.248.182.33 (talk) 18:23, 13 May 2012 (UTC), modified 18:26, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Reply:
1. → I moved the following template talk pages to template namespace: Uw-bite/sandbox, Uw-delete2/sandbox, Uw-delete3/sandbox and Uw-delete4/sandbox. Also have asked the admin who deleted the sandbox to provide a copy of it.
2. → [edit: see #3]
3. → This is a highly visible template (that's why it is protected) so i wouldn't want to make changes without discussion. Note that {{uw-bite}} being protected means you can make an edit request on the talkpage using the following code: {{edit protected}} Describe request here. ~~~~. Edit requests get answered pretty soon, basically by "yes" or "no" so there's no dithering involved.
Glad i could help, if not just drop another note :) benzband (talk) 18:41, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is invited to contribute, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Paternoster, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Electriccatfish2 (talk) 22:35, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I would like to inform you that I made that edit in good faith considering the history of that page, where I noticed a long-term edit war between either two editors or between sock puppets. SchuminWeb (talk · contribs) had repeatedly explained that the addition was unsourced, and not necessarily the most appropriate addition to Wikipedia. The IP editor(s) were repeatedly reverting his or her edits in bad faith. If I see an unestablished editor reverting edits by an established editor, especially repeatedly, it is highly suspicious. I stated in the edit summary that I have removed the content in good faith given that there is controversy over the edit, and that discussion should be initiated before further changes are made, or the content is reinserted. Thank you. 70.248.182.33 (talk) 22:39, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank You for telling me! This is my first day using STiki so I probably warned users when I shouldn't have (if you click vandalism, it automatically sends a warning message). I will try to be more carefull in the future. Thank You! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:16, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. Not intending to be negative to you, but I did ask for administrator intervention, since this was added and removed as a result of a content dispute, but I was sure to state that your edit was apparently in good faith. I did remove a large amount of content, and I am aware that vandals will often do the same, and I figured you had mistook the edit as vandalism. I was asking for administrator input since if I reverted again, it would constitute edit warring, and I wasn't sure if there was a remote possibility that even though I was well-intentioned to remove the content, that I may have not seen some important information. But again, thanks very much for letting me know. Happy editing! 70.248.182.33 (talk) 23:24, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
