:My comment might be sharp, but your comments seem to be rather biased and in sheer contrast with the evidence that is, there are IRRELEVANT references on that page and are also commercial websites on top of that. Hence why your accusations feel very much like hypocritical and shameful. Tancredileone (talk) 15:50, 20 July 2022 (UTC) |

::This not about your content dispute with Julietdeltalima. This about your abusive reply to her message. Your use of terms like "hypocritical" and "trolls" is flatly unacceptable. :::Please assume good faith. Yes, I did read the link you added and it is a straight up advertising website for a Rhode Island commercial catering business run by two brothers. It is utterly inappropriate for the Clambake article. I just added an acceptable reference - a New York Times article by Mark Bittman. I am continuing to search for sources, and just found some good information in "The Oxford Companion to Food and Drink", which I will add shortly. Those are the type of references that are needed to improve the article. Cullen328 (talk) 16:15, 20 July 2022 (UTC) |

This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at Clambake, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. This is an encyclopedia, not an advertising vehicle. Do not ever do this again. Julietdeltalima (talk) 15:42, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- Who are you exactly? I'm sorry but you have completely misunderstood the purpose of my edit.
- The aim of the reference was purely educational and not promotion or advertising. I've noticed there are few references that are not relevant when it comes to original and traditional clambake and what clambake really is about, and my reference website provides the actual answer for that.
- Please explain to me how this content found on the references at clambake https://www.thespruce.com/events-and-parties-4127600 is more relevant than the one I've posted? Tancredileone (talk) 16:29, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- It is literally an advertisement for a full-service clambake caterer and has no place in an encyclopedia. Commercial sites are not appropriate here. Please see WP:PROMO for Wikipedia's philosophy and guidelines in this regard, as well as Wikipedia's philosophy regarding reliable sources. I do not have time to address this with you further today, though, and ask you to get a second opinion from the editors at WP:TEAHOUSE. - Julietdeltalima (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- It is not an advertisement. I really don't know who you are since you haven't mentioned it yet. Maybe you own wikipedia? Maybe you own those other websites in the references? However I'm still waiting for an answer to my question, how's this relevant? How's that not a commercial website? As opposed to the website I've posted (mind you clambakeco.com has articles about the traditional New England Clambake, including history and locations, which I don't see anywhere on those other "references" at Clambake. - Your purpose may have been educational, but Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia which has a lot of rules, and one of them is that sources must be WP:INDEPENDENT, WP:SECONDARY, WP:Reliable sources. The site you added has no intention of providing independent information about clambakes, it is a commercial website that wants you to buy stuff from them. That makes anything they say inappropriate here. Can you picture Encyclopedia Britannica citing, "B&M Catering in Pawtucket, Rhode Island" for their article on "clambake"? Well, it's no different here. Have a look at WP:REFSPAM for more information. I would let this drop if I were you, and move on to some other article that interests you. Mathglot (talk) 10:58, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- f I were you I would start being a little less hypocritical, aggressive and rude, and have less conflict of interests on this "encyclopedia". Why can't you share who you are. You still haven't answered my first question, how's this reference relevant? how's this not a commercial website?
- Obviously you didn't even bother to read any of the content on the website I've shared. If you did you could not keep this up.
- It seems that those "lot of rules" apply exclusively to people that aren't in your circle of trolls so far. Tancredileone (talk) 12:53, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Tancredileone, please tone it down. Remember to assume good faith in our interactions with other editors. That last comment was unnecessarily sharp. See also WP:CIVIL. Thank you. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:31, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

I am a Wikipedia admistrator. You can visit my user page to find out exactly who I am. You behavior above is way out of line. We simply do not allow links to commercial websites in general interest articles that are not about commercial entities. They should be removed whenever they are found.
Wikipedia:Assume good faith is a behavioral guideline. Follow it. Wikipedia:No personal attacks is policy. You must follow it.
Julietdeltalima has eight years of experience as a Wikipedia editor and 60,000 edits. She has never been blocked. Calling her a troll is utterly unacceptable because it is both completely false and a severe personal attack. Cullen328 (talk) 15:36, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- Then good Sir, you should have removed the first reference before accusing anyone with an "only warning" that I might have attempted to create an advertisement or anything like it, when simply it wasn't the case and my intention. This is equally very offensive and very false and a severe personal attack. Or do we have double standards here? So anyone who hasn't had 60000 edits and eight years of services is automatically a spammer?
I do know the rules and I'm happy to abide when everyone is treated equally which is not what is happening here.
- You assumed that I'm submitting some irrelevant content however did you even take a look at it?
- My comment might be sharp, but your comments seem to be rather biased and in sheer contrast with the evidence that is, there are IRRELEVANT references on that page and are also commercial websites on top of that.
