Rollback

Hello, I have been editing for quite a while and most of my edits come form patrolling my watch-list of nearly 2000 articles and from patrolling related changes from Tamil film categories (which are usually prone to disruption). I also often patrol the recent changes log. I need the Rollback permission as I'am willing to contribute using Huggle. Thank you. SUN EYE 1 12:42, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
{{notdone}} You have only used PCR once since getting it. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 15:31, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
AmandaNP, I was not that active on patrolling after getting PCR rights as I was spending less time on wiki and was editing articles. I tried Special:PendingChanges but were unsure of some edits. I didn't know a history in PCR is required for the rollback perm. I will work on PCR from now on and when can I reapply? SUN EYE 1 16:27, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Suneye1: I may have judged this prematurely. I'll come back and rereview. I somehow didn't review your contributions already to date. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:34, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
When reverting vandalism, I usually check the page's edit history, and fairly often end up reverting the page's most recent edit and a number of contiguous edits by the same vandal. IIUC, rollback rights would reduce the number of clicks to achieve the same thing, making the process quicker and more ergonomic for me and thereby making it easier for me to fight vandalism. I would certainly welcome that! So, please could you consider me for rollback rights? Many thanks, Zazpot (talk) 13:02, 23 December 2020 (UTC) Zazpot (talk) 13:02, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! I would like to receive rollback rights because I am patrolling recent changes and find that I need rollback rights at times. I have reverted quite a lot of vandalism and unconstructive edits. I have also read tons about the WP:CVU since I am planning to join them, but thought that I'd like to request the right to rollback first. Cheers. I was sitebanned and lost all of my userrights five years ago. Funnily enough it was this very day and almost the same hour. But I've put my past behind me and have come back as a low-profile editor focusing mostly on climate statistics.
I want rollback access again, solely to make reverting edits like this easier. Honestly, doing three clicks instead of one really matters, and in some cases there's more than one edit to revert, so I have to get to the history page to see where to go.
My eyesight has degraded somewhat in the past few years, but I use a magnified font size along with color coding and I have had no instances of misclicks since being let back in that I am aware of ... and in any case it would be easier for me to just look for [rollback] (which I think will appear in bold blue for me) than to paw through the article history.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Well, it's been a week .... looking through the history of this page, I see that it sometimes gets backlogged, but I wonder if I'm holding up the line here, not just for the people who posted after me but also for those who posted ahead of me. Or maybe you are all just busy and I happened to arrive at precisely such a time. In either case, I want to restate my request just a bit:
Im tired of hammering nails with my fists. I'm not a power-seeking person, ... if this were about wielding power I wouldnt have waited 3 1/2 years just to take this one simple step. I just want the proper tools for the job. On the other hand, I guess part of the reason it took me this long to get frustrated is that I don't do a whole lot of anti-vandalism work .... I revert it when I see it, but I have no intent of installing rapid-fire programs like Twuggle where I could revert a hundred edits per day. My focus is on one small area ... climate data vandalism ... which takes a trained eye to even notice. I dont need rollback for this, but it would make things easier for me and thus improve my mood.
I'm not going to put up a big fuss if you guys decline my request, but I hope to see a reason rather than just a templatic answer that doesn't really apply to my situation.
Best regards,

I am often patrolling recent changes in order to fight with vandalism. I do have an adequate knowledge and experience on general policies and vandalism. As you can see from my contributions, this additional tool will help me alot. I have read Wikipedia:Rollback and understood when and how to use. I would kindly request a "Rollback" rights for my account. Best Regards. Kemalcan (talk) 14:52, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, i would kindly remind my request to be assessed. Best Regards.--Kemalcan (talk) 07:08, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting Rollback in order to help combat vandalism, mainly on college football-related articles. Being able to revert several successive unconstructive edits at once would be very helpful. I have nearly two years experience as PCR. Thanks for the consideration! PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 05:14, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Had a look at your recent contributions, but I'm seeing little to no counter-vandalism work. Is there any reason why Twinkle rollback is insufficient for your needs? -FASTILY 06:52, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fastily, if there is not a huge benefit for rollback over Twinkle, I'll just stick with Twinkle. Thanks. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 07:27, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to request an indefinite extension of my provisional rollback rights, as I have used my rights quite a lot, especially in order to help with my work at PCR by reverting pending edits (using RedWarn to help add an edit summary), and by using Huggle (which was one of the main reasons I applied for rollback rights), which a relatively large portion of my semi-automated edits have come from over the past few weeks.  Comment: There are significant competency concerns - I'm currently weighing up whether to decline this or not. Nick (talk) 20:23, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Nick, I can definitely see the concerns. The rollback edits seem to be acceptable though. I'd probably grant rollback as I personally am not concerned about the user's rollbacks, and the concerns seem to be about behavior that doesn't make use of the permission. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:55, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I often find myself having to revert multiple edits by a single user, such as the ones here and here (see the revision history of the page and my contributions page for more examples) and find it very tedious. I kindly ask for rollback permissions to avoid these laborious tasks. Best Regards. Politicsfan4 (talk) 23:35, 31 December 2020 (UTC) Politicsfan4 (talk) 23:35, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Politicsfan4, that sounds like you're looking for Twinkle. :) Rollback is for obvious vandalism only (WP:ROLLBACKUSE). ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:07, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey ToBeFree. Apologies if I wasn't clear enough. I am still looking to revert vandalism using the rollback tools, and I probably shouldn't have included those specific examples. However, my contributions page should make clear that I sometimes do have to revert multiple vandalism edits in a row. Politicsfan4 (talk) 19:15, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, Politicsfan4, but most of your undos seem to be about different opinions about content in US-politics-related articles; the "measurable track record of counter-vandalism" doesn't yet seem to exist. Would you mind using Twinkle for antivandalism, warning users on their talk pages after reverting, and re-requesting the permission if you still see a need for it in a few months? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:24, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ToBeFree: Understood. Thank you! Politicsfan4 (talk) 20:26, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and no worries. 🙂 I'll mark it as "withdrawn" for now. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:23, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ToBeFree Thank you. Not to be a pain, but I have a Pending changes reviewer request that has been sitting around for about 4 days now, and there are multiple pending changes that I would like to accept. If possible, could you take a look at it? Thanks. -- Politicsfan4 (talk) 22:14, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, will do :) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:15, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm often patrolling recent changes for vandalism using Huggle and Wikipedia's site. I have to use the site because Huggle requires rollback, so it would make helping catch and revert vandalism a lot easier and faster if I had rollback and was able to use Huggle. I know that I do not have many mainspace edits; however, I am actually very experienced in the ways of counter-vandalism. I would only use this right to revert edits that are clearly vandalism. Also, just having the right is helpful when RC patrolling; if a bad edit has the “[rollback]” button next to it, that means that someone hasn’t reverted it yet, which saves me time in clicking on edits that have already been reverted... --sithjarjar (talk | contribs | email) 18:22, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 42 edits to the mainspace, I don't think you have sufficient editing experience yet. Take a moment to check out what counter-vandalism is at WP:CVU, and if you decide you'd like to get involved, you can enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:02, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I'd like to request rollback rights for my account to assist with reverting obvious vandalism at recent changes. Confirming that I've reviewed the guidelines at Wikipedia:Rollback; my contributions demonstrate my experience with reverting vandalism and warning users.
