Pavitra Bandham (transl. divine relation) is a 1971 Indian Telugu-language drama film, produced by T. Govindarajan under the Venus Pictures & Ashok Movies banner[1] and directed by V. Madhusudhan Rao.[2] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Kanchana, Vanisri, Krishnam Raju with music composed by Saluri Rajeswara Rao.[3]
Plot
Ashok (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) an unemployed educated guy who lives in a bus left as crap. Aruna (Kanchana) a beautiful girl, is the daughter of Chilakalapudi Zamindar (Chittor V. Nagaiah) goes through a confined lifestyle but wants to live like a free bird. Shekar (Krishnam Raju) zamindar's nephew, a stubborn & idiotic person always keeps a strict vigil on her when Aruna knows that her alliance is fixed with Shekar she runs away from the house. At Present, Aruna accommodates at Ashok's bus, introducing herself as an orphan and they fell in love. Later Ashok realizes Aruna as Zamindar's daughter, so, he forcibly takes her back when she accuses him of his betrayal. Distressed, Ashok refunds the account offered by her father when Aruna understands his virtue and rushes behind, by the time, he leaves the place. In return, Ashok meets with an accident in which loses his memory. Meanwhile, Zamindar passes away, assigning the property to Aruna and entrusts her responsibility to his loyal servant Subbaiah (Perumallu) which makes Sekhar furious but maintains cool and sticks around for Aruna & property. Parallelly, in a village, charming girl Rani (Vanisri) lives along with her mother Durgamma (G. Varalakshmi), once she finds wandering Ashok who could not recognize himself and gives him shelter. As time Passes, both love each other, Rani names him as Raja, tattoos it on his chest, they get married and blessed with a son. There, Aruna still anxiously waiting for Ashok. Years roll by, Raja starts developing farms to obtain some loan he lands at the city when is attacked by goons. Seriously injured Ashok is rescued by Aruna when he regains his past but forgets Rani. Now Ashok & Aruna decides to pair up. In the village, perturbed Rani moves in search of Raja when she accidentally gets acquainted with Aruna who takes in with her where she is surprised to see Raja as Aruna's fiance. To clarify her doubt one night, Rani reaches Ashok's bedroom to check the tattoo and confirms him as Raja. Unfortunately, Shekar spots her, even spoils Aruna's mind. In that perplexity, Ashok again gets a mental shock and becomes unconscious. Angered Aruna orders Subbaiah to neck out Rani. At that Point in time, Durgamma arrives when Subbaiah recognizes her as the original mother of Aruna who has given her daughter for adoption. Here Shekar & Aruna start accusing Rani which Subbaiah cannot tolerate and reveals the truth when vicious Shekar tries to forcibly marry Aruna. At the same time, Ashok gets conscious by retrieving his complete memory and obstructs Shekar. In that quarrel, Aruna severely injured while guarding Ashok against harm. Finally, the movie ends Aruna departing by uniting Ashok & Rani.
