A few notes: 1. The explosives were procured from the IRA, which got them from Carlos, who got them from the Swiss anarchists' takeout service, which stole them from a government depot. Might be worth clarifying. 2. There was a double-parked dummy car packed with more explosives at the target point, just over a city gas main 3. The admiral's car was a heavy Dodge Dart --Elmeri B. 1. The origin of the explosives has variously been attributed to CIA, MI6 and Black September; and there has been speculation that the tunnel contained one, possibly two, anti-tank mines stolen from US Military base at Torrejón. However this is mostly just speculation - see Montánchez and Canales book for example. IRA would not have had this capability in 1973.
2. Dummy car possibly but not with more explosives. The guys who set off the bomb were dressed in blue monkey outfits to look like labourers. Madrid at that time had limited mains gas supplies, and bottled gas explosions were not uncommon hence they could use the ruse that a gas explosion had occurred.
3. Indeed car was a Dodge Dart

[edit]I've just read the first refference (in spanish language) and it's a completely politicised and non-neutral writting. It should be deleted or changed, in my opinion. --Homespider (talk) 23:30, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
