Because of vandals and illegitimate users posting messages to my talkpage, my talkpage has been protected and redirects you to post your message on the IP subpage. If you are a legitimate IP user attempting to contact me, my apologies, and I will be as prompt as I can in responding to your messages. -- Amanda (she/her) |

Amanda, I think if they don't want to be listed as tool admins, we shouldn't list them as tool admins even if they have the bit on UTRS.--v/r - TP 19:01, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Could you detail your thought process a bit? I only restored because DFO seemed to think they didn't have access which is not correct, and if that's the case, I still become the single point of contact about the tool. I've been trying to avoid that because I have times where I'm not available for. -- Amanda (she/her) 20:41, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- I already let them know that they had the bit on UTRS. They had other concerns - namely that they're getting requests for technical problems and not tool admin problems. If you want to help me get my labs access set up again, I dont mind becoming the primary alternate for technical issues, again.--v/r - TP 03:04, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- Noted, and works for me. Let me know where you need assistance in getting in. -- Amanda (she/her) 08:41, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – January 2025
News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2024).
- Following an RFC, Wikipedia:Notability (species) was adopted as a subject-specific notability guideline.
- A request for comment is open to discuss whether admins should be advised to warn users rather than issue no-warning blocks to those who have posted promotional content outside of article space.
- The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.
- Following the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been elected to the Arbitration Committee: CaptainEek, Daniel, Elli, KrakatoaKatie, Liz, Primefac, ScottishFinnishRadish, Theleekycauldron, Worm That Turned.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in January 2025 to reduce the number of unreviewed articles and redirects in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!
