- Keep the copy on ardentinny.org must be the copyright violation, not the one here. The image is reproduced widely—61 results on Google Images, but all are at least a year newer than the Wikipedia upload (2007), many of the earlier results credit Wikipedia as the source; this one (here's the page) is from 2010, does explicitly not claim copyright, and like most does not give the metadata on the Wikipedia version. —innotata 00:32, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- "This picture is the copyright of the Lordprice Collection and is reproduced on Wikipedia with their permission" + PD-US-not renewed template, no evidence of permission Bulwersator (talk) 09:18, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- If the PD-US-not renewed template is valid then the permission or lack of permission is not relevant. Isn't there somewhere online we can check if the license was renewed? --MGA73 (talk) 08:05, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Project Gutenberg and Google Books have many of the copyright renewal books. Search for "copyright renewals YYYY" where YYYY is the year of renewal. Renewals are supposed to be made 28 years after the original publication. There is also a search engine for copyright renewal records where you can search for renewal records directly. --Stefan2 (talk) 09:56, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that this logo should remain a PD-textlogo image. Fails the threshold of originality; should be treated as public domain. - Seth Allen (discussion/contributions) 04:09, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- When deciding whether something is a PD-textlogo or not, it is necessary to know the country of origin since the threshold differs from country to country (see commons:COM:TOO). This seems to be a US logo, so I'd guess that it is a PD-textlogo. --Stefan2 (talk) 11:07, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
