Merge of inactive education wikiprojects

There are a number of inactive or semi-active wikiprojects related to education:

I propose merging these projects into WikiProject Education in order to redirect interested editors to a more active group, stimulate collaboration on the broader topic, and reduce duplicate work in maintaining talk page banners etc. The process is quite straightforward and is outlined at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide/Merging WikiProjects. – Joe (talk) 17:45, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see that helping banner maintenance but will it band interested editors to a more active group? I've been following multiple topics and generally the Education project is just as broad as Biographies in that the broader category for banners doesn't necessarily stimulate editor collaboration or community. Italy#Education

I have read that in the education section of the Italy page it's specified that, "In 2018, secondary education was evaluated as being below the average among OECD countries." Concerning the humanistic disciplines (literature, history, etc.) the Italian school is one of the best, or the best, in Europe; school subjects aren't just science and mathematics. Merger discussion for Paresky Commons

I have begun a merger discussion at Talk:Phillips Academy#Merger proposal: Paresky Commons. The merger itself is pretty basic, but as Phillips Academy is a B-class article, my understanding is that I'm required to notify the relevant WikiProjects before executing a merge. Wiki Education notability standards

As part of WP:NPP with my focus being science academics, I have come across several pages being created based upon who the students find interesting rather than first checking WP:NPROF. Many of these have been clear fails of the academic criteria (which are different from the general ones).

There are related issues: I draftified one page which an editor resubmitted via AfC and was declined (by someone else). The draft is now abandoned as the course has ended and no students wanted to try and improve it.

How can we inform the class mentors that they need to be careful about notability and not create work for others?

@Czar, I did wonder about that, but also noted this project's Goal #4:

Coordinate with Wikipedia:Education noticeboard and Wikipedia:Student assignments
