Etymology

Feminine of کُکَّڑ (kukkaṛ, cock; rooster), inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀼𑀟𑀻 (kukkuḍī), from Sanskrit कुक्कुटी (kukkuṭī). Compare Kashmiri کۄکٕر (kọkụr) and Assamese কুকুৰা (kukura).
