i've never flown a real quadcopter, does betaflight already have the ability to "land where it is"? or that's something that needs to be programmed? because i'm having trouble imagining how a racing quad would sense it's altitude (i've only played racing simulators) |

I have a 5-inch drone that I use for long-range flights, and a Pavo 20 that I use to fly in small spaces, like forests. Sometimes I fly my drone over water, and I always have a GPS on the Pavo 20. However, in the woods, the GPS can't get a satellite fix. In Betaflight, there's a landing function, but it's an alternative to Return to Home. If you enable RTH and the GPS loses satellite connection, the drone just falls. What I want is for the drone to land gently if there's no GPS connection. |

I would like to propose a new development.
Since I often fly in conditions where the GPS signal is not fixed, it would be convenient if the fail-safe, instead of causing the drone drop would make it land where it is.
It would be great to have the option to choose this behavior. At the moment, I’m forced to modify the configuration before every flight, which is really inconvenient.
