I wanted to suggest a possible feature that could be useful for scenarios like the one we're facing with the resource Index to Hebrew Periodicals, which is used by various OpenAthens customers. Currently, the Catalog administrator cannot add a specific prefix for each individual organization, and we’re looking for a more streamlined solution.

It would be great if there could be a general redirector URL that does not require specifying an organization’s identifier. This would allow us to use a prefix that triggers the OpenAthens login page without prompting for a specific institution, keeping it more flexible.

For example, currently the Israeli Catalog is using this link

https://proxy.openathens.net/login?qurl=https://www.jstor.org/stable/pdf/26917223.pdf

However, this only works for customers who have the proxy version of the resource allocated. As we would prefer to use the federated version for resources like JSTOR.

A potential solution could be a link structured like this:

https://go.openathens.net/redirector/[GENERAL NAME FOR ALL LIBRARIES]?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jstor.org%2Fstable%2Fpdf%2F26917223.pdf

Basically this new link will get the org info only after logging in.

If this could be considered as a feature, it would certainly improve the flexibility for resources that don’t have institution-specific prefixes.
