An unemployed showgirl, Connie Curtiss, tell's the store's press agent, Tommy Shaw, that more girls would buy and wear Woodbury's styles if the prices weren't so high. Tommy sells store-owner C. J. Woodbury on the idea of installing a new line of low-priced apparel. Over the objections of Woodbury's starchy secretary, Minerva, and his own secretary, Miss Lansdale, Tommy starts a publicity campaign with Connie as "Miss Manhattan", and has her wear the new styles at various gathering places around New York City. Tommy gets his newspaper-columnist friend, Ted Carter, to help stage a style show for working girls. A fee complications arise from that. Written by Les Adams See less
