The life of a famous writer. One day, he gets a postcard from David. On it, David says he has found a new life and that he wants the substitute take over his life permanently. After he becomes David, he can't write anymore. He stops listening to what his editor says because he is no longer the substitute, he is David. Readers want to read what he thinks.
