Ian Lavery

British politician (born 1963)

Ian Lavery (born 6 January 1963) is a British Labour Party politician and former trade union leader. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wansbeck since the 2010 general election.

He was president of the National Union of Mineworkers, 2002–2010.[1][2] In June 2017, he became Chairman of the Labour Party and would continue in the role until 5 April 2020.
