Flip flops - can anyone ANYONE help??!

Postby Kooju » Wed Apr 27, 2005 5:04 pm

Hi everyone! On a recent trip to the land of Oz I tried on some amazing Reef 'ginger' flip flops in Taupe colour (light/pale browny creamy sort). They didn't have my size and said I should not have a prob finding them here in the UK. Trouble is, I have found them but not in that colour I love! Does anyone know where I can get them here, internet, shop or otherwise? Please! All I can find are pink and blue ones, but I want taupe!
Thanks! :?:

What the heck are flip flops? Here in Hawaii they are called slippers or thongs? i think? Every surf shop sells slippers pretty much but some are about 40 bucks. Slippers are part of local culture here (wear them to school everyday) since we don't have much of a need for shoes unless playing sports, formal events, etc. In fact, I think I have the ones you mentioned. I also have 6 more pairs and probably have gone through 30+ pairs of slippers in my lifetime. If you ever come to Hawaii we have a lot, especially Reef and Quiksilver brands. Otherwise just purchase them online.

Aloha!

If you don't know what flip flops are maybe you need to get out more. In the US, slippers are something worn to bed. Google "flip flops" then google "slippers" and see the difference. Slippers aren't worn out of the house.

To the OP, concerning the flip flops you are looking for, I would try online, particular Amazon.uk. If you can't find them there you can also try eBay. Hope this helps!

Mickapoo, congratulation you have come second in the resurrect an ancient thread the winner was 13 years you clocked in at 9.

Yes slippers are bedroom footwear, thongs are the type of foot wear , there a strap or piece of leather goes between the second an a big toe.
Thong is also the another name for a G string that people wear.
It is not the one on your guitar.
In New Zealand thongs are called Jandells.
OZ is the very big island to the west of New Zealand.
FIXED

Try googling "slippers Hawaii" we wear them everywhere and call them slippers or slippahs (in pidgin english)
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
