The scout is living in the big leagues now? Aah! That does it! All reports are in! Life is now officially unfair!

Hammer isn't the brightest Cyclone Mini-Con around, akin to an excitable (if evil) puppy. But set him and his partner Anvil on a target, and you'll have quite the attack dogs on your hands. Sometimes, Hammer works with Crazybolt.

He's kinda cymbal-minded. Ha-HAAA!
Voice actor: Carlos Alazraqui (English)

Hammer was part of the group of Decepticons led by Scorponok and Glowstrike. He and Anvil were teamed up with Bisk and sent to obtain sound boards from the Rumbledome, which was hosting a Rear Axle concert. The two were sent on watch-bot duty by Bisk, but didn't do a terribly good job, as the Autobots' human ally Russell accidentally walked right into the storage room they were ransacking. When Russell knocked over a box of cymbals, the pair of Mini-Cons quickly pounced on and brought the source of the noise to Bisk... that is, they brought the cymbals to him, having missed Russell completely. Hammer then took an interest in one sound board's wiring, earning him a quick zap from the exposed electricals, and a quick threat from Bisk. In response to more Russell-caused noise, the two Mini-Cons started shooting up the place, and an irritated Bisk ordered them to guard the door. Russell escaped via the service elevator, and the trio moved on...

The Mini-Cons accompanied Bisk on-stage, the Decepticon posing as part of the show's "epic space battle" costume and effects extravaganza, aiming to take the remaining sound board from the on-floor sound booth. Bumblebee got in the way, and Bisk took the chance to sic the Mini-Cons on the momentarily star-struck Autobot. However, Bee quickly grabbed the two Mini-Cons, bashed them together, and tossed them into a gigantic speaker stack, shorting them out and knocking them offline. Once Bisk too was taken out of commission, the three were stuffed into a crate for transport and incarceration back at the scrapyard. Bumblebee's Night Off

Hammer's stasis pod was later taken back to Cybertron by Optimus Prime, Windblade and Ratchet. Decepticon Island (Part 2)

Robots in Disguise (2015)

"Polly want a chunk of raw meat! Rawwk!"
"He's been like that ever since our dog was missing."
  • Decepticon Hammer (Mini-Con, 2016)
  • Accessories: Armor sprue (helmet, tail-armor, 2 blasters, left & right dual-blasters, left & right flame effects)
Part of the third wave of Robots in Disguise single-pack Mini-Cons, Hammer transforms from a small dragony-bird-like robot into a sphere in only a few steps. He comes with a number of clear plastic accessories attached to a Decepticon-insignia-shaped sprue, which can be attached using the corresponding tabs and slots on his body, and do not need to be removed to transform him between modes.
As a Cyclone-style Mini-Con, in sphere mode he can attach to and launch from the Deployer toys Overload and Crazybolt, even without removing his add-on armor. He also works with the Deployer Fracture, though he is not really designed to.
Like all Robots in Disguise toys, he has a scan-badge sticker that unlocked him as an assistant Mini-Con in the now-defunct Robots in Disguise mobile game. (As do all the following toys, so we won't repeat ourselves going forward.)
The third and fourth waves of the single-pack Mini-Cons arrived in the US very late, and mostly at discount chains like Five Below.

  • Mini-Con 4-Pack (Multi-pack, 2016)
  • Accessories: Armor sprue (helmet, tail-armor, 2 blasters, left & right dual-blasters, left & right flame effects)
Part of the second Mini-Con 4-pack, this version of Hammer is a redeco of his single-packed toy in his red and blue show colors. He includes a redeco of the same clear plastic accessories, just in a lighter shade of green this time.
This set also includes redecoes of Anvil and Undertone, and Weaponizer Slipstream,
The Robots in Disguise mobile game labels this figure as "Stealth Hammer", though this descriptor is nowhere to be found on the 4-Pack's packaging.

RID15-Deployer-Crazybolt-Hammer.jpg
  • Crazybolt & Decepticon Hammer (Mini-Con Deployer, 2015)
  • Accessories: Armor sprue (helmet, tail-armor, 2 blasters, left & right dual-blasters, left & right flame effects)
Another redeco of Hammer, now in white and red, is included with the Mini-Con Deployer Crazybolt figure... despite Crazybolt's box art showing the red-and-blue Hammer coloration from the 4-pack. He again retains the same armor sprue as his original figure, just in a new color.
The Robots in Disguise mobile game labels this figure as "Scorch Hammer", though this descriptor is nowhere to be found on the set's packaging.
Due to retailers in the United States discontinuing the Deployers assortment, the wave with Crazybolt and Hammer was never released at brick and mortar retail in the US, and was only stocked by US-based online retailers following a massive delay. The two-pack did see a release in various other markets more or less on schedule, though.

RID15 Mini-Con Mega-Pack Hammer.jpg
  • Mini-Con Mega Pack (Multi-pack, 2016)
This massive fifteen-pack of Mini-Cons, released exclusively in some Asian and European markets, includes a version of Hammer that uses the same plastic colors as his single-pack release, but with the paint ops from the four-pack version (blue wings and a silver beak). He also lacks the armor sprue.
This set also includes Anvil, Back, Bashbreaker, Beastbox, Divebomb, Lord Doomitron, Ratbat, Sandsting, Sawback, Swelter, Tricerashot, Undertone, Velocirazor, and Windstrike, each with extremely minor added/altered paint deco and none of the armor sprues.

Notes

Hammer RID 2015 package art.jpg
  • Though Hammer's toy gives him only two birdlike legs, his show model gives him four legs, making him more of a dragonoid than an avian in design. His package art, seen at right, shows him with two.
