HISTORY
FALL OF THE REPUBLIC

Ahsoka Tano was discovered by Plo Koon at the age of three and accepted into the Jedi Order. When she was 14, Jedi Master Yoda granted Ahsoka the rank of Padawan and apprenticed her to Anakin Skywalker, a powerful if reckless Jedi Knight. Anakin initially bristled at the idea of having an apprentice, and their early interactions were playfully contentious; he called her “Snips” for her witty retorts, and Ahsoka called him “Skyguy.” But their relationship began to grow, and Anakin gained a newfound respect for Ahsoka when she creatively destroyed a Separatist shield generator, saving his life in the process.
Over the course of the Clone Wars, Ahsoka experienced many ups and downs, heartbreaks, and triumphs. She successfully fought beside Clone Captain Rex, saving him and fending off General Grievous, a notorious Jedi killer. But she also made costly mistakes. During her first stint as commander, Ahsoka disobeyed a direct order to retreat; as a result, most of her fighter squadron was wiped out. She learned a valuable lesson in responsibility and the need to follow orders. Later, while on guard duty at the Jedi Archives, Ahsoka encountered the legendary bounty hunter Cad Bane. Bane successfully stole a holocron, but Ahsoka was able to expose his accomplice, the shape-shifting Cato Parasitti, and she and Anakin eventually recovered the artifact.
Growing up during the Clone Wars, Ahsoka also learned about the complexities of politics as well as attraction. On Raxus, she met young Separtist Lux Bonteri. Through Lux, Ahsoka came to realize that Separatists are not a uniform enemy; many have valid reasons for wanting to break away from the Republic. She also developed feelings for him that were complicated by her Jedi vows to deny attachment of any kind.
As the war continued, Ahsoka emerged more mature and became a true leader. Taken captive by Trandoshans to be hunted for sport, she successfully led a revolt, her inventiveness and rebellious attitude clearly coming from the influence of Anakin Skywalker. Later, she escorted a group of younglings to Ilum, where they underwent a Jedi rite of passage called the Gathering: constructing one’s first lightsaber. And it was Ahsoka who saved and watched over the younglings when things went wrong.

Ahsoka’s fate and life as a Jedi took an unexpected turn when she was framed for the murderous bombing of the Jedi Temple. The evidence against her was strong and she fled, desperate to clear her name. Ahsoka was eventually captured, and the Council stripped the young Jedi of her Padawan status and expelled her from the Jedi Order. Anakin, however, never stopped believing in his apprentice’s innocence and uncovered the truth: Jedi Bariss Offee, Ahsoka’s friend, was behind it all. Ahsoka was acquitted but rejected an offer to return to the Jedi Order, choosing to take a new path into the future.

On the back of a junky speeder bike, Ahsoka retreated to the Coruscant underworld before a crash landing left her stranded on Level 1313. Thanks to a kind offer from the mechanic Trace Martez, Ahsoka was able to begin making repairs and forged a friendship with the young woman who had big dreams of leaving the dank underworld for the glittering stars. But Ahsoka quickly learned that not everyone saw the Jedi as heroes in the war, and Trace and her sister Rafa were embroiled in some illegal activity to survive.

After agreeing to help the sisters on a job, Ahsoka found herself a passenger on the Silver Angel, a refitted freighter that was being used to run spice from the mines of Kessel to the Pyke Syndicate. Although the illicit dealings left Ahsoka in a moral quandary, she was able to use her abilities to con the leader of the Pykes into paying them without getting the spice he would only use for dangerous dealings.

But the plan wasn't quite a success. Imprisoned on Oba Diah, Ahsoka had to figure out a way to save the Martez sisters and herself while hiding her Force abilities and the truth about her past.

It wasn't easy, and her Jedi training was eventually revealed to Trace and Rafa by Marg Krim, who mistakenly thought Ahsoka was acting on a mission for the Republic. Her true identity now known, the sisters judged Ahsoka by her character and returned to Oba Diah to help their friend after she sacrificed herself so they could escape the Pyke prison. Back on Coruscant, Bo-Katan Kryze, who had been watching Ahsoka from the shadows, emerged to ask the former Jedi to unite against a common foe -- the former Sith Lord, Maul.

Using Anakin Skywalker's subspace frequency "Fulcrum," Ahsoka was reunited with her former master near the end of the Clone Wars. With Lady Bo-Katan Kryze at her side, Ahsoka told Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi that they had located Maul. Although reticent to provide military back-up and get dragged into another war, the Jedi eventually acquiesced and agreed to send Captain Rex and several clones from the 501st Legion to assist in the siege of Mandalore. With her lightsabers returned to her, Ahsoka was ready for the fight. Or so she thought.

On Mandalore, Ahsoka faced Maul, clashing lightsabers in the throne room of the capital city. But Maul didn't want her dead, and for a brief moment it appeared the two would join forces. But after he revealed that he had orchestrated the Siege of Mandalore as a means to draw Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to him with plans to kill Skywalker and deprive Darth Sidious of his new apprentice, Ahsoka could not follow through with the pact. Ultimately, she fought Maul bravely and was able to turn his own weapon against him to capture the former Sith Lord for the Republic.

But in transit to deliver Maul to the Jedi Council, the unthinkable happened. Darth Sidious handed down Order 66, a decree for all clones to execute their Jedi generals. Despite the fact that Ahsoka was no longer a Jedi and that Rex was her friend, the inhibitor chip in his brain forced him to try to comply -- but a part of him resisted, urging Ahsoka to find information on the clone they called Fives. After she uncovered a secret recording detailing that the chips might have a hidden purpose, Ahsoka and a group of brave droids were able to remove Rex's chip just in time.

Together, Ahsoka and Rex had to fight their way out of the medical bay in an attempt to escape and save their own skins. But as Maul ripped the hyperdrive out of the craft, sending it suddenly into the orbital pull of a large moon, their circumstances became increasingly dire. Although they desperately tried to spare as many clone lives as they could and eventually escaped in an unattended Y-wing, the Republic cruiser plummeted to the surface of the moon and Rex and Ahsoka were left to bury their dead comrades. In anguish and defeat, Ahsoka left her lightsabers in the graveyard of the fallen soldiers.
THE DARK TIMES

While she no longer identified as a Jedi, Ahsoka Tano went into hiding following Order 66. She constructed new lightsabers, both with blades of white due to her non-affiliation, and remained on the periphery until the rebellion against the Empire. Then, Tano became Fulcrum: an intel agent with her identity a secret to all but those with the highest of clearances.
Tano's destiny would change, however, when she was called in to help the Ghost crew escape from Mustafar space. Here she met two Jedi -- Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger -- and shortly following the encounter, Tano was present during a deadly aerial clash with a mysterious Sith Lord. Ahsoka, reaching out through the Force, connected with the dark side wielder -- a connection that made her lose consciousness.
Tano accompanied the Ghost crew on several missions, including battles with the Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother Inquisitors, whom she handled with relative ease. But fate would lead Tano to a greater confrontation: one with the Sith Lord she encountered in Mustafar space. It was Darth Vader, now revealed to be her former Master. They battled atop the Sith Temple on Malachor, with Tano delivering a strike square across his mask. The scarred face beneath looked like Anakin, but the man she knew was gone. They struck swords once more as the Temple collapsed around them.
