After India’s 1947 partition, Hindus were still almost a third of East Pakistan’s population; when East Pakistan became Bangladesh in 1971, they were less than a fifth; 30 years later only nine percent; and today fewer than eight percent.     Great book, accurate description of genocide of non muslims happening in darul-islam of bangladesh. Unfortunately indians/hindus helped bangladesh win independence in 1971 now its coming back and biting us.

    This book is about the plight of the Hindus in Bangladesh, who have faced persecution not only during the Bangladesh Liberation War, but also in current times. In addition to intolerance and violence, Hindus are also marginalized due to discrimantory laws.

    Compared to the many books and news articles on the persecution of Muslims and on Islamophobia around the world, there are few books discussing the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and other places (Pakistan). This book is very useful for anyone interested in Bangladesh, human rights and Hinduism.

    Other authors that I can recommend on Bangladesh and human rights include Yvette Rosser and Taslima Nasrin.
