Capcom Entertainment would not confirm a specific release date with IGN. However, IGN was able to confirm that Devil May Cry 2 will hit retail stores simultaneously in Japan and the US, and that the game will appear in retail stores sometime in late January.
The reason for the noncommital answer, a Capcom representative told IGN today, is that there are many aspects that need to be wrapped up, and the development team is unable at this time to pinpoint an exact day.
The date does fall within the announced "this winter" release for Capcom's highly-anticipated action sequel, but it may disappoint some fans who were hoping to play the game before the end of this year.
Expect hands-on (or at least eyes-on) impressions of Devil May Cry 2 from next week's Tokyo Game Show.
