French filmmaker François Ozon can tackle subjects of the utmost gravity (see Under the Sand, Frantz and a host of other solemn dramas). But my favorite Ozon movies are the ones that blend seriousness with erotic mischief – works like 8 Women, Swimming Pool and In the House. Just as irresistible is the dangerously sexy and perversely funny Double Lover, a psychological thriller that concerns two psychologists ... well, actually their twins.
At first, Chloe, beautifully played by Marine Vacth, doesn't know this; neither, for that matter, does the audience. The ex-model is in therapy with Dr.

"Lying to seduce is common practice among pretty women." Cohen Media Group has debuted the official Us trailer for the latest film from French filmmaker François Ozon, titled The Double Lover (in French, it is L'amant Double), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year. This is being released right around Valentine's Day in the Us, which might be too on-the-nose for this very sexual romance. Apparently the opening shot is a jaw-dropping zoom out from a woman's privates, and the film only gets more sensual from there. Marine Vacth stars as Chloé, a vulnerable Parisian woman who falls madly in love with her charming therapist, only to discover he is hiding part of his identity when she gets closer to him. The cast includes Jérémie Renier, Jacqueline Bisset, Myriam Boyer, and Fanny Sage. If you're looking for something romantic and sexual and tantalizing and very French, then you...

François Ozon has an eclectic and varied filmography as a director, veering from the gentle fun of Potiche to the more sinister In the House. L’Amant Double definitely falls into the latter category, but that doesn’t mean there is no fun to be had.
The film opens with an eye-popping scene that we rarely see on the big screen (unless you go to a lot of obs and gynae conferences). And as this film is concerned with a woman’s sexuality, initially under wraps and then unleashed, I suppose it’s fair to take a literal peak at her hidden sex. The woman in question is Chloé (Marine Vacth, who also starred in Ozon’s Young & Beautiful). She’s got stomach cramps and can’t find any physical reason for it. Her gynaecologist suggests therapy and off Chloé goes to the office of Paul Meyer...
