- He loves to sing and play guitar, and formed his first rock band, "Rampage," in seventh grade. He went on to become a founding member of two other bands, "Paradox" and "Big Wednesday" (in high school and college, respectively), before deciding that his true calling was not in the music industry.
- He used to work for Greenpeace; he also worked briefly as a jazz pianist at a bar in Vienna, Austria, and spent a summer working on the Cape Cod & Hyannis Railroad. Other odd jobs held during & after college include English teacher, construction worker, and art/rare book dealer.
