Born to a Mexican mother and Texan father, this dual-national began
acting at a very early age. Participating as an amateur all of his
early academic life, he debuted professionally in 1974 in the play
"Fortune and Men's Eyes". His first motion picture was "Survive" in
1976. He proceeded to receive a Bachelors Degree form the University of
Texas at Austin in film directing with a minor in acting. After having
performed in a number of U.S.A. film productions, he went on to become
one of Mexico's top actors having participated in over 70 motion
pictures, the majority in first billing, and more that 18 television
series. He has received both the Silver Goddess and El Heraldo award
for Best Film Actor. He was awarded several C.I.N.P.E.(Circulo Nacional
de Periodistas de Espectaculos) awards including Best Lead Actor in a
Telenovela in 2000 for one of the few non-villain roles in his career -
"La Casa en la Playa". He has also received 4 TVyNovelas (the Mexican
Emmy) for his television career. He is more known for his roles as a
villain, and also enjoys live singing with Mariachi bands. In 2002 he
was named "Sr. Internacional" by L.U.L.A.C. - League of United Latin
American Citizens for his contribution to that society. That year he
was also recognized as "Honorary President of the Republic of the Rio
Grande" for being an outstanding Texan. Since 2003 he has lived in Peru
and then in Florida. He taped one television series in Peru and has
taped three series for Venevision in Miami where he is presently under
contract with Telemundo/NBC taping a new series titled "Pecados
Ajenos". He spends all his free time collecting donations for children
born with HIV in Peru. He discovered that his fame can help others, and
now dedicates his time and press to "La Posadita del Buen Pastor" in
Lima, Peru where he helps to supervise the personal and academic
education along with the anti-retro viral medication of more than 45
HIV+ children.
