José María Zabalza was born in 1928 in Irún, Guipúzcoa, Spain. He was a writer and director, known for El milagro del cante (1967), Bullets Over Dallas (1970) and Homicidios en Chicago (1969). He was married to Ana Satrova. He died in 1985 in Madrid, Spain.
