Sumbul Touqeer

Sumbul Touqeer is an Indian film and television actress. She gained recognition in 2020 for her leading role in the Star Plus TV series Imlie (2020), in which she played the role of Imlie, a young and smart village belle. She was nominated under the category of Best Actress at the 2022 Bollywood Life - Television Awards for her role in this series.
She began her career in television as a child artist from hit TV shows like Jodha Akbar (2013), Waaris (2016), Chandragupta Maurya (2018), and Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein (2019).
With Article 15 (2019), Sumbul made her Bollywood debut where she played a minor role but was appreciated by everyone for her brilliant acting skills.
She did her training in acting at the Sehejmoodra Acting Academy, run by Monika Verma and completed her High School from the NTCC High School in Malad West, Mumbai, India and 12th standard from a private school. She then started studying commerce, but then decided to put it on hold and apply for a course in cinematography.
She has always been very close to dancing so before entering in the acting field she participated in various dance reality shows like StarPlus's India's Dancing Superstar (2013) in 2013 and Big Magic Bihar/Jharkhand's Hindustan ka BIG Star (2014) in 2014, where she even reached the finals of the show.
In addition to her acting career, Sumbul also participated in Season 16 of the well-known reality show Bigg Boss (2006) in 2022 and created the record of becoming the first teenager and the youngest contestant in the history of Bigg Boss (in any language) to stay in the house for more than 100 days.
