Apple TV+ thriller “Suspicion” is set to hit the sales block in Cannes at this year’s MipTV market.
Keshet International has revealed that the eight-part series starring Uma Thurman will headline its drama slate at the spring TV market in France, which kicks off on April 17. The Israeli TV distributor will shop linear rights for the series.
Apple TV+ commissioned Keshet U.K. to produce “Suspicion,” which is based on the popular Israeli series “False Flag” and launched on the service in February 2022. Its sales foray marks one of the rare instances where an original on a streamer (that’s still available globally on the platform) has been sold on the open market for linear rights.
In recent years, major SVODs have been focused on keeping originals on their own platforms for extensive periods in order to drive subscribers. However, in this case, it’s Keshet International that holds...

The real crime story at the heart of “Suspicion” is brutal underuse of the show’s biggest star.
Uma Thurman is close to the center of the action on Apple TV’s new mystery series. She plays a high-flying businesswoman whose son is kidnapped from a New York hotel. After footage of the incident goes globally viral — both because of her fame and because of the kidnappers’ provocatively wearing masks of the British royal family — various, seemingly random suspects find themselves pleading their innocence to law enforcement agents from the U.S. (Noah Emmerich) and the U.K. (Angel Coulby). And Thurman finds herself balefully wondering if revealing certain closely-held secrets might free her son.
The investigation story feels standard-issue, reliant on flash, somewhat weak culture-clash material between Emmerich’s and Coulby’s characters, and intimations of dishonesty and conspiracy. But too often, the show seems to be purposefully obscuring...

Per the official synopsis: “‘Innocent’ follows David Collins as he returns home after seven years imprisoned for the murder of his wife. When the initial judgement is overturned due to a technicality, Collins is left a free man and soon finds himself facing a new investigation that unveils dark secrets of abuse, affairs and money troubles. Can you believe it's been seven years since Colin Morgan's boy wizard first strode onto our screens?
The series premiere of Merlin on September 20, 2008 set us off on a magical five-year journey - one with mythical monsters, wicked warlocks and excessive amounts of bromantic banter.
Millions tuned in each Saturday night for the show's blend of fun, fantasy and friendship - because Merlin and Arthur (Bradley James) were definitely just friends, Ok? - but what's happened to Camelot's finest since that epic final episode?
Colin Morgan
The aged Emrys might still be waiting for King Arthur to revive, but Merlin lead Colin Morgan hasn't lain dormant these past few years. He appeared opposite fellow Irish legend Gabriel Byrne in BBC One's moody detective drama Quirke in 2014, was seduced by Gillian Anderson as mercurial copper Tom Anderson in The Fall and played cyborg Leo in Channel 4's smash hit Humans.

It's always a big risk tinkering with a much-loved classic - particularly something that was a big part of people's childhoods - but the creative forces behind Thunderbirds Are Go! have promised that this 2015 revamp of the '60s Supermarionation series retains all that made the original so great.
Indeed, die-hard fans will be happy to hear that a good deal remains unchanged - from the off, Peter Dyneley's stirring countdown-to-launch and the subsequent swell of that classic theme tune deliver a rush of glorious nostalgia.
But it's also more than a mere nostalgia trip, with enough changes put into place to ensure that the show works as colourful, engaging fodder for the 6-11 year-olds of today.
As befits a modern series, and one intended primarily for children, the pace is utterly relentless throughout - a lack of incident is certainly not a problem that Thunderbirds Are Go! suffers from.

Over the years, there have been several - mostly unsuccessful - attempts to bring back Thunderbirds.
However, where others failed, Thunderbirds Are Go! looks set to succeed.
Debuting 50 years after the original series first aired, Digital Spy sat down with the cast to talk comparisons to 24, why the show is "the opposite of naff" - and why fans of the original will be happy to see this incarnation of International Rescue back at work.
Lady Penelope - Rosamund Pike
"It was an easy 'yes' as soon as ITV asked me to voice Lady Penelope. It was a huge compliment and I knew it would be a very exciting adventure.
"Exploring the scenes with David Graham has been an absolute delight. The scripts are very modern, very fresh and very funny. I love working with him, and the bond between Parker and Penelope and the humour that is batted between them is really fun to play.

Thunderbird 4 took its maiden voyage on the River Thames this morning to mark the launch of the new series Thunderbirds Are Go!.
ITV's revamp of the classic '60s show will launch this Saturday (April 4) at 5pm with a special double episode.
A 15ft model of underwater rescue vehicle Thunderbird 4 departed from East London, passing iconic landmarks including Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
A team of TV prop builders took more than six weeks to design, construct and paint the model, which was made from fibre-glass.
In both the original and revamped Thunderbirds, Thunderbird 4 is piloted by aquanaut Gordon Tracy, and is often delivered to the danger zone by Thunderbird 2.

Thunderbirds Are Go! head writer Rob Hoegee has accounted for Jeff Tracy's absence from the animated revamp.
A pivotal character in the original '60s series, Jeff was the father of the Tracy brothers and head of International Rescue, but Hoegee recently confirmed in a Reddit Ama that he will not appear in ITV's new reboot.
Speaking at a press screening for Thunderbirds Are Go! last night (March 31), Hoegee clarified the decision, suggesting that Jeff's absence allows the show's younger characters to "shine".
"Jeff Tracy is not a character that can be sidelined or minimised in any way shape or form," he explained. "He is a huge presence - in the world of Thunderbirds and on the screen - [and] the show we're making right now couldn't be about Jeff Tracy - it has to be about the boys, and Kayo (Angel Coulby).
"Our feeling was… what would be a way...

Thunderbirds Are Go executive producer Giles Ridge has spoken about the updated version of the show.
Ridge said that while it would appeal to a modern audience, many of the original elements would be retained.
He said: "We had no intention of messing with what already worked.
"It's a classic for a reason - it's a show that has a lot of cultural relevance for a lot of people, and so the decisions and changes we have made were not entered into lightly.
"Equally though, the series needs to appeal to a new modern audience, so whilst the iconic characters… music and story elements are largely retained, they are realised with production values that deliver an even greater dynamic and emotional experience for today's audience."
Ridge also spoke about some of the new vehicles that would appear on the show, before saying that the characters' heroism held the key to its appeal.

The series, a reboot of the acclaimed Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's 1960s series, combines both CG animated characters and live-action model environments and vehicles in a way that is reminiscent of the supermarionation style that defined the original.
Rosamund Pike, Kayvan Novak, Angel Coulby and Thomas Sangster lend their voices to the series.

Everything that's been released so far has looked really cool, but today we bring you one of the best things that I've seen yet. It's a video tour of the locations that will be used in the series, and the detail is stunning.
What makes these so awesome is the fact that they are practical physical miniature sets that were built by the talented wizards over at Weta Workshop. The sets include the Tracy brothers’ island base and several other locations. You can get your first look at the Tracy brothers in the series here.
The cast is led by Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) as Lady Penelope and David Graham (Thunderbirds 1965) is reprising his role as chauffeur and International Rescue agent Parker. Other characters include the unstoppable inventor Brains, who...
