Basil Joseph, the director of the recently released superhero film Minnal Murali, has opened up about his filmmaking journey in an exclusive interview with Club FM 94.3. The young filmmaker, who made his debut with the comedy film Kunjiramayanam, has also directed the sports drama Godha and acted in several films like Joji, Jan.E.Man and Thanneermathan Dinangal.

In the interview, Basil was asked which was the hardest shot he ever shot as a director. To everyone’s surprise, he chose the opening shot of Godha, where there were around 500 people and it was like a Freeze Frame shot, where around 500 people couldn’t move and the cameraman started the camera with the crane and then he unhooks and then he walks by leg and after that he moves and uses the jib and then again legs.

He said it was one of the hardest shots he ever shot.

The star is playing a superhero in this flick and this is the first time a full-length superhero film is being made in the south Indian film industry. With the role requiring a well-chiseled physique, Tovino is sweating it out at the gym and his hard work seems to have paid off well. The actor shared online a few pictures of his workout. The shooting of Minnal Murali is currently in progress in Wayanad where the entire team is stationed and the team has prepared shooting schedules in various places in Wayanad and Karnataka. Minnal Murali is directed by Basil Joseph of Godha fame and bankrolled by Sophia Paul under the banner Weekend Blockbusters. Hollywood stunt coordinator Vlad Rimburg has been roped in to choreograph the stunts for this film.

Ila Arun and Kk Raina's theatre troupe, Surnai have done the voice overs for Utv Motion Pictures animated mythological action film Arjun-The Warrior Prince. The theatre group did a two month workshop with director Arnab Chaudhuri and staged the film as a play with 30 to 40 voice over artists acting out their parts which were recorded on a sound stage. While Ila has dubbed for Arjun's mother Kunti, Vishnu Sharma has done the voice over for Bhishma Pitamah's part. Arjun-The Warrior Prince is based on the mythological character Arjun from Mahabharat. The film follows the journey of a nine year old Arjun and his transformation into a renowned warrior and will release on May 25.
