Charles Lichter

Composer, conductor and violinist Charles Lichter was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 15, 1910. Educated at the Ethical Culture School and at Juilliard, he was a staff violinist, conductor and musical consultant for the Columbia Broadcasting System since 1936, and he was the musical coordinator for the Bell Telephone Hour". Joining ASCAP in 1959, his popular-music compositions include his "Romantic Suite".
