Tom Folsom is an American author and screenwriter, director, and
producer of documentaries, and his work has appeared at Sundance and on

described his works as concerned with "rebels and outlaws." Folsom

Hemingway, and went on to become an expert on the mob, writing major
national bestselling books including Mr. Untouchable (with drug kingpin
Leroy "Nicky" Barnes, while in the federal witness protection program)
and The Mad Ones: Crazy Joe Gallo and the Revolution at the Edge of the
Underworld. Folsom is also the author of the authoritative Dennis
Hopper bio, Hopper: A Savage American Journey, for which Ralph Steadman
produced the art.
