Especially in times like this, a good fright flick can often cure what ails you. A bad one, however, can be a trying thing to sit through. Unfortunately, for a multitude of reasons, the new film Behind You is a bad one. Derivative, lacking in scares, monotonous, and just overall disappointing, it’s a real chore. Despite having some decent performances from the younger actors in the cast, almost nothing lands here. Hitting Digital this weekend, horror fans will be presented with a less than appetizing option. Unless you’re absolutely starved for a genre entry, you can do way better than this. The movie is a horror effort, playing upon the genre’s obsession with the danger that mirrors can hold. After the death of their mother, teenager Olivia (Addy Miller) and her younger sister Claire (Elizabeth Birkner) are being sent to live with their estranged Aunt. Family friend...

"Mirror, mirror, open wide..." Vertical Ent. has debuted the first official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Behind You, marking the directorial debut of first-time filmmakers Andrew Mecham and Matthew Whedon. Two young sisters, sent to live with their estranged aunt, find that all the mirrors in her house are covered or hidden. When one of the sisters comes across a creepy mirror in the basement, she unknowingly releases a malicious demon that had haunted her mother and aunt years ago. The horror film stars Addy Miller, Elizabeth Birkner, Philip Brodie, Aimee-Lynn Chadwick, and Jan Broberg as the creepy aunt. This reminds me a bit of the horror films James Wan was making years ago though it doesn't seem to reinvent the wheel, only offer more of the usual supernatural scares. Check it out. Here's the first official trailer (+ promo poster) for Mecham & Whedon's Behind You, from YouTube: Two young sisters,...

The seedy side of Hollywood fame is no secret, but Tinsel's Town approaches that subject with a unique take. The new web series from creator David Barry follows a failing actress who seeks attention through a YouTube vlog.
The protagonist of Tinsel's Town is Tinsel, portrayed by Aimee-Lynn Chadwick, a bubbly young performer with big dreams. Individual episodes of the series are staged like YouTube vlogs, but as the series goes along, the darker side of Tinsel's personality, as well as the nakedness of her pursuit of fame, come into greater focus. All the while, Chadwick plays her role with such confidence that it would be easy to mistake Tinsel's Town as an actual vlog rather than a parody of one.
Tinsel's Town, however, isn't just out to skewer YouTube culture; it is interested in examining the idol worship inherent in our culture. The show's director, Michael Lindsey-Hogg, got...

News on a new adaptation of Hedda Gabler, a new film about the Kray brothers, and more.
Aspect on board for Hedda Gabler
Aspect Film has taken on worldwide sales rights to Matthew John’s new period drama adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play Hedda Gabler, currently in post. Rita Ramnani [pictured] takes the lead role, with the cast also including Jon-Paul Gates, Samantha Hunt, David Butler and Francisco Ortiz. Aspect Film’s Managing Director, Hugh Edwards said, “Matthew John has tackled an Ibsen classic with aplomb. To do so as a debutant director and achieve what he has deserves credit. John has pushed the envelope and it will be interesting to see the reaction from both Ibsen purists and newcomers to the Hedda Gabler story alike.” The film was shot at Maunsel House in Somerset, owned by Sir Benjamin Slade, who also executive produces the film.

Now that filming for both ‘Cosmopolis’ and ‘Twilight’ is over, Robert Pattinson has some time on his hands! Some Hollywood experts say Rob should pursue a completely different role than he has done in the past!
Now that Cosmopolis has wrapped, Robert Pattinson, 25, has some choices to make regarding his future in Hollywood. Should he do another dramatic film, or something totally out of his comfort zone? Hollywood experts weighed in, and most agree that he should do something totally different from Twilight!
Rob is familiar with roles in dramatic films, but there are some in Hollywood who say he shouldn’t go down that road again! Could we see the Twilight stud chalking up jokes instead?
“His Water for Elephants and Remember Me didn’t go over too well, so I’d stick away from drama,” Matthew Cole Weiss, director of Standing Still, said. “If he has comedic chops,...

Forget Jason, Freddy, Michael, and all of the rest. There is only one group out there who knows how to cut deeper than anyone else, the MPAA. Recently Rob Hall's upcoming film ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 went before them, and guess what?!?
They immediately slapped the movie with the dreaded Nc-17 rating. Having already seen the movie, I can tell you as a fact there's no way this wasn't going to happen. Ltr 2 is riddled with some of the most insane bits of violence and kills we've ever seen. Not kidding either. This flick is Nuts, and we love it!
When reached for comment about the rating, director Hall chimed in with the following ...
"I think it's great the MPAA had a problem with almost every kill in the film", says Hall. "If they didn't, we wouldn't have done our jobs correctly. They have a job to do,...

Week Two of shooting ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 was one of the more interesting times on set. Insane amounts of blood, new faces, and watching a very dedicated cast and crew come together to make the impossible possible have demonstrated everyone’s dedication to bringing horror fans a new installment in the Laid to Rest franchise.
Late in Week One we lost cast member Michael Biehn, who had to depart to film another production in Tunisia, but that meant we got to welcome the awesome Owain Yeoman as our new Detective King. I used to be a huge fan of Fox’s “Kitchen Confidential” so was pretty psyched he was able to join the team.
Which brings me to some new info I can finally reveal. We’ve been doing our best to keep a lot of stuff under wraps, but we’ve gotten our official cast list and synopsis finalized,...

So, Film Friday continues with another episode from Soul Fire Rising called "I Give You My Soul," which is so thick with religious themes that one might wonder: is the source Christian influenced? After some investigation this webseries is not Christian sourced, but simply from the twisted writing mind of Kurt Patino (Cup O' Joe). Also, the soul is heavily referenced in the series, and here is that lesson you were hoping to avoid, the soul is an ancient reference to the heart as the seat of human consciousness from Greek philosophy. However, science has refuted this belief and shown that the mind is, of course, the seat of man's consciousness, behaviours and the instigator for emotions. Have a watch as character Lilith demands the soul of others which could be given a way freely as this concept is not based in reality!

Funny things happen on the way to an orgy. Three young couples, in various levels of committment, decide to have an orgy over a weekend getaway at Cummings Farm. Why, it's not clear, but what what happens up to the moment of truth reveals more about the intended participants than anyone ever expected.
Alan and Yasmine are dating, Tina and Todd are married with children, and Rachel and Gordon are living together. Even before everyone arrives at the farm, it's clear that no one really thought out the consequences of a sexual free-for-all. Rachel (Aimee-Lynn Chadwick) is supportive of Gordon (Jordan Kessler), but he's an alcoholic. Alan (Adam Busch) is uptight, and Yasmine (Yasmine Kittles) is demanding. Tina (Laura Silverman) is the devoted wife and mother, and how the crude and selfish Todd (Ted Beck) managed to win her is a mystery. These are three very different relationships, none of...

Director: Andrew Drazek Writer(s): Ted Beck Starring: Laura Silverman, Yasmine Kittles, Jordan Kessler, Aimee-Lynn Chadwick, Adam Busch, Edrick Browne, Ted Beck What better place to meet for a first orgy amongst friends than Cummings Farm, right? It is as if the place was named not to be a strawberry farm at all, but specifically for orgies… We first meet a young Jewish couple, Yasmine (Yasmine Kittles) and Alan (Adam Busch), as they bicker about which wine would be better suited for the orgy: Beaver or Platypus? (The sexual innuendoes abound in Cummings Farm.) Their sexual relationship has been on the rocks, and Yasmine hopes that this orgy is going to kick-start their sex life again. Alan is a quirky tight-wad who is only going for the ride in the hopes of a chance to get with Yasmine’s friend Rachel. Next, we are introduced to Rachel (Aimee-Lynn Chadwick...

Frequent collaborators, director Dale Fabrigar (a semi-finalist on Steven Spielberg’s short lived On the Lot reality series) and writer Kurt Patino, have teamed up with actress Kelly Stables (best known for playing Evil Samara in The Ring movies) and visual effects wizard Michael Morrealle to produce a new horror/fantasy web series titled Soul Fire Rising. The show, produced by King Dream Entertainment, follows demon Lilith, played by Aimee Lynn Chadwick (Las Vegas, Trade) – who could be compared to a very hot goth Maggie Gyllenhaal – as she wanders through Los Angeles stealing men’s souls while searching for Eve (to be played by Stables in future episodes), a now mortal demon worth one million human souls. The first two chapters, running about three minutes each, are currently available on the show’s website and MySpace. The website also features cast interviews and photos.
