Ronald Wilson(1945-1989)

Drummer Ronald Lee Wilson was born on June 26, 1944 in Los Angeles, California. Wilson played drums in his high school Tartan marching band prior to joining the surf-rock group The Surfaris in 1962. The Surfaris had a massive hit with the exciting instrumental "Wipe Out," which Wilson not only co-wrote, but also played an extremely energetic and impressive drum solo in. Ronald went on to play drums for the Monica Dupont band in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Wilson died from a brain aneurysm at age 44 on May 12, 1989 in Placer County, California.
