Dawn Brodey is originally from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; and came to Los Angeles by way of Minneapolis. She worked for years in live theater and improv, including as a street performer at Universal Studios Hollywood.
She lived aboard a houseboat on the Mississippi River for 9 years, and moved to Los Angeles in a vintage RV. She first gained recognition in LA as the host of a live variety show she created in her community called 'The Trailer Trash Talent Revue'. A monthly staple in Van Nuys, the show brought together celebrities, musicians, and folks staying in the RV Park she briefly called home. It earned several accolades including a feature in LA Weekly.
Dawn regularly performs stand-up in and around Los Angeles and lives with her husband (Andrew Melby, director), and daughter.
