Meggie Foster McCann grew up as Meggie Welch in the small town of Vicksburg, Mississippi. She had her first acting role as Mouse #6 in a Summer Stock production of "Cinderella" when she was five years old, and was hooked ever since. She went on to star in plays at her high school and in her community theatre. She graduated high school top of her class, and moved to Los Angeles. There she attended Occidental College and Cal State Los Angeles, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Geography with a Minor in Theatre Arts.
While in Los Angeles, Meggie performed with many local theatre companies like The Road Theatre and 3 of a Kind Theatre in North Hollywood. She also starred in many productions in college and was a regional finalist for the Irene Ryan scholarship. She also worked on many short films, web series, and commercials. When Meggie joined SAG-AFTRA, she was told another union member had a name too similar to hers. So she chose the last names "Foster McCann" in honor of her grandmothers.
Meggie put herself through college working as an artist for a popular grocery store chain. It was there that she met her husband, Travis. Wanting to be closer to family while still being able to pursue her dream of acting, Meggie and Travis moved to Atlanta, the "Hollywood of the South" in 2014.
