In 1991 he won the 'Guitarist of the Year' competition run by Guitarist Magazine, with his instrumental "Sundance".
Subsequently wrote over two hundred articles, transcriptions and lessons for Guitar Techniques Magazine, and also filmed a variety of instructional DVDs for Licklibrary and a global satellite TV series called "Killer Guitar".
