Tim Horsburgh is Vice President, National Geographic Documentary Films, working on their feature documentary slate, covering the production and distribution of award-winning films such as Wild Life, Fire of Love, The Territory, Retrograde, We Feed People, THe Flagmakers, Torn, The First Wave, The Rescue, Becoming Cousteau, and Fauci.
From 2009-2021, Horsburgh advanced the reach and reputation of four-time Academy Award nominated Kartemquin Films, recipient of a 2019 Institutional Peabody Award. Managing an annual slate of 25 active projects, his experienced covered directing and implementing the festival, theatrical, broadcast, and digital releases of over 45 completed award-winning films, series, and shorts; the development and management of several not-for-profit filmmaker development programs; founding and leading successful advocacy movements on behalf of the entire independent documentary media making field; and teaching and consulting on audience engagement and impact campaign strategies.
