Sophia Slaysman is a Florida based actress. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts. She has studied at NYU's Tisch School the Arts, studied writing at The University of Toronto in Canada, and acting and digital film making at New York Film Academy.
Sophia has an interesting ancestry; half German, and half Spanish. Her mother's German side can trace its roots to Bavaria, and she is a distant cousin of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Her father's family is from Austurias, in the north of Spain. Sophia is fluent in Spanish, having studied the language for seven years. She also speaks rudimentary French, and is continually learning more French.
Sophia loves to participate in sports; tennis, skiing, sailing, biking, running 5k's, and attempting to play golf. She likes to say her bags are "always packed" and she is ready to hop on a plane, train or a car and go everywhere!
Sophia is a huge Anglophile, has visited England many times and considers herself an English history expert and Henry VIII buff. She has visited all of his castles which still exist on several occasions; Hampton Court Palace, the ruins of Whitehall Palace, Windsor Castle, St. James' Palace, and has visited Greenwich where he had one of his favorite castles, which alas, perished in a fire. She has read copious books about Henry VIII and his six wives - fascinating tales which she considers more intriguing than anything offered in film or television today.
Sophia has visited Europe countless times, and her favorite countries are; England, France, Italy. Her dream is to someday own a country inn in England filled with antiques and art with her husband Michael, and play hostess to a steady stream of fascinating visitors. She already has a name chosen for her horse, Fitzroy, and plans on having at least two Aierdale terriers to keep the house buzzing with activity. Michael promises to keep the Aga going in the kitchen at all times, and Sophia will bake her famous croissants for all the visitors each morning (not too early as she is a night owl).
Sophia loves to read, and treasures her collection of vintage historical books on Old Hollywood, England, Picasso, and antiques. She loves her library, although Sophia finally has acquiesced to the convenient technology of kindle while traveling.
Sophia is the author of the best selling book, SWINGING FROM THE CHANDELIERS, available on Amazon, online, and in bookstores.
