Jan Duncan Weir received the "Best Actress" award (Christian Film Festival 2018) for her portrayal as Helen Senders, a woman suffering with Alzheimer's Disease in the indie film, 'Second Chance-If One Wish Granted'. Additionally, Jan is a producer and a rising dramatic talent in the film industry. She is the free spirited only child of an USMC Colonel and a West Virginian domestic goddess. Both parents had previous acting experience and doted on Jan's performance abilities during her early childhood. Born in Virginia and raised in Orange County, California further exemplified Jan's free spirit, which is such a major part of her personality. Exhibiting an unbridled passion for performing at a young age, Jan was a ballet/jazz dancer and a former competitive figure skater and ice dancer. One of her favorite memories in California was performing in Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade as the character "Pete on Pete's Dragon". Beginning in her early teens, she began acting and performed in various theatre camps and commercial productions. Additionally, she studied acting in junior college and attended several prominent acting schools in Southern California. During this time, Jan developed a deep devotion for method and character acting. Taking a hiatus from acting to raise her only child, Jan resumed her passion for acting after her son completed college. Overall, her acting performances include a variety of films, television and commercials. With an on-screen presence of adding something extra to any production, Jan is a chameleon of performance and has an innate ability to imbue her roles with fine detail. Additionally, she displays a wide range of emotion in her acting and proficiency in various dialects.
