Review of Grenseland

Dark as a Norwegian Winter
19 August 2018
This show is very noir. The protagonist does some very bad things, but for what he thinks are the right reasons. In perfect noir style, none of the characters are who they seem to be. Each is pursuing a hidden agenda. As a consequence, the story unfolds in layers. Also in noir style, the story world has a nightmare quality to it. It traps the protagonist at every turn. If you like shows like The Bridge (SE), The Killing, Marcella, Case, and Trapped, you'll probably like this one too. Just the cinematography is incredible, but the story telling is first rate as well . . . as long as you are willing to pay close attention. It's in Norwegian with English subtitles.
