No idea why this show wasn't renewed for a second season; it was good. I first watched it merely for James Arness (huge Gunsmoke fan), but found myself genuinely enjoying it on its own merit. Several lines seemed almost prophetic. For instance, in one episode Jim McClain gave a mini-speech to his partner about how our legal system being light on crime would lead our nation down a path where criminals would rule the streets. Hard to argue he was wrong. The show also had a lot of action, several familiar faces along the way and minimal 80s cheese. I'm sad one season of this series is all we will ever have, but definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
