This was Republic's first feature in Technicolor.
At the time this movie was made, Borden Chase was married to Lee Keith, who was a concert pianist and who may have helped inspire the story. Lee brought to their marriage two daughters, Barrie - who became Fred Astaire's dancing partner, and Pat - who became romantically involved with her stepfather, Borden Chase.
That same year Warner Brothers also released a film dealing with a talented female concert pianist, of whom a musical mentor and another man were competing for the affections. That film was Deception starring Bette Davis.
"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie on
November 4, 1946 with Catherine McLeod reprising her film role.
