When i watched(today) the first minutes , i was not expecting how woderful this movie would be.

The main character is amazing, the other cast is also great.

The Silvas live in Lisbon and receive an heritage from a passed away aunt in Argentina.

They were to receive 1200 contos ( a lot 70 years ago) but they receive nothing as all goes to lawyer fees, fees and more fees, so all the Silvas get is an old farm in the country, which they eagerly are willing to trade by their house in urban Lisbon.

But to their surprise they only find an abandoned land and house, most to their desbelief, but they don't despair and make it a home, with some ingeneous and funny ideas.

Well Silva, wants to grow his own potatoes, and breed rabbits and not all goes as planned, not all is plain mathematics as he soon realizes.

Despite all the ups and downs Silva becomes the most appreciated man in the whole village, you will know why... I won't spoil the movie, you have to see how well made it is, light comedy with drama , you will really enjoy it.

At the middle and end all want to help Silva, which they do.

Please watch this movie, specially with english subtitles, you won't be disapointed.

If you like movies like Frank Capra's"It´s a Wonderful Life" which is at another level , you will like this one, which is completely different but the essence is there.
