Featured review
Surprising, comic and amusing Heimatfilm with all the for its genre required elements, but one that constantly seems only one step away of being a parody of the genre. What else is there to think when there is a reporter called Konstanstin Opel, a hunt is done in over the top costume and Hans Moser declares at the end "Wenn DAS kein Happy End ist!" (four marriages at the same time). At least this Heimatfilm does not take itself seriously.
It is thàt fast-paced that it never lets the viewer be aware of the improbabilities of the genre. Cast is fine and certainly game for this joke; very well directed by old hand Harald Reinl. One disappointment: the four beautiful legs of the Kessler Twins are partly covered by Lederhosen!
