- TriviaThe portrait in Rear Admiral Bintle's office is of Capt. Daniel Gregg, played by Rex Harrison, from The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947).
- GoofsThere is a discrepancy with the release date of the movie and the ribbons on the ship. The movie came out in 1961, but there was a Vietnam Service Medal among the ribbons. The St. Clair County did not go to Vietnam until February 1966. Vietnam Service was not authorized until 1965.
- Quotes
Lt. Victor 'Vic' Donald: [Screaming Eagle Garfield is watching him shave, and is making some odd faces] Are you enjoying my shave?
Shrieking Eagle Garfield: Huh.
Lt. Victor 'Vic' Donald: Why don't you run along and have one of your own?
Shrieking Eagle Garfield: Indian no shave. No have hair on face.
Lt. Victor 'Vic' Donald: Hmm, like a squaw, huh?
Shrieking Eagle Garfield: Squaw have'm hair on face. Shave'm twice a day.
Lt. Victor 'Vic' Donald: [Gives him a perplexed look] You know, Sunday I'm gettin' married, and you and I will have to part company, old buddy. Why don't you run along, find a girl of your own and get married?
Shrieking Eagle Garfield: [Breaking into a cadence, snapping his fingers] I am member of Chickasaw Nation, and I say with-out reservation, when a Chickasaw buck take'm squaw, he always take'm Chickasaw, 'cause the slickest chick you ever saw is a quick slick quick Chickasaw squaw...
Lt. Victor 'Vic' Donald: [Looking even more perplexed] Say that again?
All Hands on Deck has great family friendly plot with a good cast. By current movie standards it does drag a bit, but that is because it actually spends time on this crazy thing called character development which you don't see in many movies today.
It is a crying shame that it is not on DVD or blue-ray.
